BIG STIR DIGITAL RECORDS and JOE NORMAL & THE ANYTOWN'RS are proud to present a special release for Giving Tuesday, December 3 2019, with all proceeds benefitting THE ED ASNER FAMILY CENTER. The band's new exclusive song “Even Now” will be released on Giving Tuesday with all proceeds benefiting the Center, and is available for pre-order at www.bigstirrecords.com/digital-singles now! A day-and-date CD release of BIG STIR SINGLES: THE FOURTH WAVE, showcasing the single and 25 other tracks from the Singles Series, accompanies the release with $5 from each purchase going directly to the Center.
“Even Now” was written and recorded by JOE NORMAL (who along with THE ANYTOWN'RS is a favorite on the live scene in LA and beyond with several highly-regarded singles to their credit) from a deeply personal perspective and with The Ed Asner Family Center's mission in mind. As the parent of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the celebrated rocker/singer-songwriter has gifted us with a song of hope that speaks directly to the hearts of other parents and families within the special abilities community. "Even Now" is a song that carries a universal message of faith and encouragement to anyone in the midst of life's struggles, that no matter how tough things are, everything will work out. “Sometimes we all need a reminder,” says Joe, "the future's looking brighter every day."
Wishing to give back to the community that has been there for his own family, Joe Normal & The Anytown'rs, along with Big Stir Records, have partnered with The Ed Asner Family Center to help raise awareness and support by donating the proceeds of "Even Now" to the Center to help them continue providing the invaluable services they offer to nurture the whole special family. A description of the Center's activities accompanies this release, including information on how to become more directly involved.
Inspired by songwriters like Tom Petty, Ray Davies, and Paul McCartney, Mr. Normal has crafted a melody that is instantly memorable, supported by lots of jangly, sparkly guitars, and a message to brighten even the worst of days. In terms both musical and heart-and-soul, it's perfectly in line with the community-based ethos of Big Stir Records, whose founders Christina Bulbenko and Rex Broome also work as music teachers and have seen firsthand what music, education, and informed empathy can do for children with special needs. We are thrilled to be a part of bringing this song, and this chance to support a worthy cause, on the occasion of Giving Tuesday!
