The Ghost Inbetween Us
The ninth BIG STIR DIGITAL RECORDS DIGITAL SINGLE finds us returning to the start of our musical journey. BSR's first release was 2017's Therapy from PLASTICSOUL, a record that went on to adorn many a noteworthy Year's Best Albums lists and has most recently landed on author JOHN BORACK's Top 200 Power Pop Albums 1970-2017 in his fresh-off-the-presses book Shake Some Action 2.0. We've been asked when there will be more from the band, and we're happy to be able to answer: right now, with "The Ghost Inbetween Us" b/w "Laughing Boy"!
The A-Side shows main man STEVEN WILSON at his rocking melodic finest, with a ripping, yearning vocal topping a tale of a relationship that's as complicated as it is real. The B-Side is no less heart-rending, an acoustic-based number ornamented with lush harmonies, reminiscent of the more tender moments of Big Star's catalog or John Lennon at his most vulnerable.
Both tunes have been presented in other versions before but never on a proper PLASTICSOUL release, and we're delighted to present them here with brand new artwork from BIG STIR MAGAZINE's resident visual genius JOSEPH CHAMPNISS.
STEVEN WILSON is already writing and preparing demos for PLASTICSOUL's fourth album even as he wraps up producing duties for 2019's forthcoming album from THE ARMOIRES.
